Horton Heritages – The EU funded Life Critical Project led by Bradford Council uses historic Horton Park as a vehicle to explore flood risk and climate change adaptation measures together with the participation of local communities. Moisture flow through the park is informed by geophysical prospection, terrain modelling and map regression to examine historic water courses and infrastructure that feed Bradford’s Becks. As a by-product of this work, the heritage assets within the park have been developed into a heritage trail and adding to an understanding of the original planting schemes. Collectively these serve as common ground to spark interest and draw together different viewpoints and narratives from local residents interested in improving the environment of the park.
